Welcome to NGB and our Assassin’s Creed Shadows walkthrough on the Golden Teppo. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about how to complete the Golden Teppo quest chain easily. During this time, Naoe will be trying to track down the masked woman who shot her while wearing a gold-trimmed teppo mask.

The Golden Teppo Walkthrough
To find the Golden Teppo, you’ll need to complete a series of quests. During these quests, Naoe will follow up on some leads to track down the target to fulfill her promise to her father (or exact revenge, if that’s your thing).
Searching Sakai
To track down the Golden Teppo, you’ll need to travel to Sakai and speak with the gunsmiths there, asking about the gun used to shoot Naoe. To find them, head to the Sakai Firearms District near the center of Sakai.
Once there, you’ll want to look for an alley near the arm text of Firearm on the map. In that area, you find and listen in on two men talking. During the conversation, Naoe approaches them, asking for the papers. This will cause them to flee. You’ll then need to chase after the main one foot ( there will be an objective marker). Take him out to receive the papers.
Now that you have the papers, you must locate and speak with Imai Sokyu. If you follow the new objective marker, it will take you to the building he is in. Head inside to trigger an event. Afterward, you’ll need to follow Imai through town. Eventually, you’ll end up in a Saki house, which will complete the mission.
Dress for Success
For Naoe to attend the tea party, she must acquire a kosode to appear as a member of the Sakai socialite. To find one, travel to the Port of Sakai and head for the southern part of it, past the Money Changer District. There, you’ll find a lady standing next to a gold pot. Speak with her to inquire about the garb. She’ll then tell Naoe that making the kosode will take one week due to the silk shortage caused by bandits.
After some further pressure, she’ll tell Naoe that she can have her hands on some silk, and it will only take a day to make it.
From the lady’s location, you’ll need to travel northwest in the water toward the Nanbanse fast travel point at the top of the ship with the same name. You’ll then want to board the boat to the west of it.
That ship will be filled with pirates and contain the silk you are looking for. After you take care of the pirates, you should spot a chest in the center of the deck that contains our prize.
Once you have the silk, return to the lady and hand it over. You’ll then be given a choice between a black or red dress. The choice is yours, and the question will be complete once you decide.
The Perfect Gift
To fit in at the tea party, Naoe will need to learn proper tea etiquette. To that end, she must find someone who can teach her.
Travel to the northern part of Sakai to find a merchant setup along the river. Speaking with him triggers a cutscene where you’ll meet Sen No Rikyu, who happens to teach the art of tea. Follow him back to his house, where he’ll tell you that you must be focused on the task at hand. Once you’re ready, speak with him to get started.
The first question that the Tea Master asks is how you would bow to greet him. Choose the “Bow Halfway” choice. Following that choice, Naoe will learn more about tea etiquette, which also includes presenting a gift to the Tea Master at its end.
Sen No Rikyu will then present her with three items that she may pick to present as her gift. What you choose here has no bearing on the story, so feel free to choose whichever you like. The quest will then be completed after you’ve made your choice.
The Tea Ceremony
Now that Naoe has obtained a kosode and learned proper tea etiquette, it’s finally time to attend the tea party. Return to Imani Sokun outside his residence to be introduced to Master Soyuz via cutscene.
When it concludes, you’ll be permitted to go to the garden, where you can mingle with the other guests before the ceremony starts. You must speak with the individuals listed below to progress the quest.
- Obama (green/pink)
- Lady Satoko (green/white)
- Wakasa (brown)
After speaking with all three ladies, the guests will be called to begin the ceremony. Join them on the line to trigger another cutscene. When prompted, select the options listed below.
- Bow halfway
- Turn bowl right twice
Following the ceremony, you’ll be given the option to confront one of two girls. You’ll want to make sure you choose to confront Wakasa. This will see Naoe invited back to her house to speak without their public masks.
When you arrive, head to the other side of the wall that Wakasa is looking at to find something mounted there. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene, which leads to the completion of the mission. This will also complete the Golden Teppo, rewarding you with EXP, some Mastery Points, and the Shinobi’s Fury legendary tanto.
