How to Start the Boot Camp Affinity Mission
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, affinity and main story missions are unique in that you can only undertake one at a time. If you begin an affinity mission, you won’t be able to start a main story mission, and vice versa. Furthermore, you can only have one affinity or story mission active at any given time.
The Boot Camp affinity mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be found in NLA’s Industrial District. The recommended level for this mission is 42 and the required level is 41. To begin this mission, you must complete Chapter 10 and Outfitters Test Hangar must not be in use. The primary destination is Primordia. The affinity rank with Gwin must be Rank 1. The restricted characters are Irina and Gwin.
Boot Camp Overview
Train with Gwin to help him get stronger.
Objectives
- Have a practice battle with Gwin in the Outfitters test hanger
- Purchase a Soldier Assault Rifle from the shop
- Talk to Gwin in the Outfitters test hangar
- Complete Elma’s first task
- Complete Elma’s second task
- Complete Elma’s third task
- Return to the Outfitters test hangar in the industrial district
- Have another practice battle with Gwin in the Outiffters test hangar
Boot Camp Walkthrough
At the start of this mission, you’ll be thrown into a fight with Gwin. After you defeat him, a cutscene will trigger, during which the party will critique Gwin’s combat skills.
Next, travel to Armory Alley in the Administrative District to purchase a Soldier Assault Rifle from the shop. It will cost 4,500 credits. Once you’ve purchased the weapon, return to Gwin in the Outfitters test hangar and speak with him. During the cutscene, Elma will give you three tasks to complete. Before starting them, make sure to add Gwin to your party!
After completing the above tasks, return to the Outfitters test hangar in the Industrial District to trigger a cutscene. Afterward, you’ll need to fight the Level 42 Gwin. The Boot Camp affinity mission will then complete!
Elma’s Task A / B
For these missions, you must defeat two silver suids and two silver femia suids using a Soldier Assault Rifle. These enemies are mainly Level 42 and can be found northwest of NLA at FN Site 108. To accomplish these tasks, we equipped Soldier Assault Rifle to Gwin and set him as the Controlled Character. You’ll then need to hit the enemy at least once with the Soldier Assault Rifle in order for it to count.
Elma’s Task C
To complete this mission, you’ll need to defeat two tough armored suids with a Soldier Assault Rifle at Seaswept Base east of NLA in Primordia. Again, have the Soldier Assault Rifle equipped to Gwin and set him as the Controlled Character. You’ll need to hit the enemy at least once with the Soldier Assault Rifle for it to count.
Completion Rewards
As a reward for completing the Boot Camp affinity mission, you’ll receive the following:
- Experience x410
- Reward Money x30,000
- Assault Rifle Art “Grenade Blitz”
