How to Start The Custodian’s Duty Affinity Mission
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, affinity and main story missions are unique in that you can only undertake one at a time. If you begin an affinity mission, you won’t be able to start a main story mission, and vice versa. Furthermore, you can only have one affinity or story mission active at any given time.
The Custodian’s Duty affinity mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be found in NLA’s Administrative District. The recommended level for this mission is 48 and the required level is 48. To begin this mission, you must complete Chapter 11 and “New in New LA” affinity mission. The primary destination is Cauldros. The required affinity with Neilnail is Rank 2.
The Custodian’s Duty Overview
Head to the BLADE Barracks to hear the particulars of Neil and Celica’s request.
Objectives:
- Head to the BLADE Barracks
- Investigate the structure at Cauldros’ O’rrh Sim castle ruins
- Investigate the structure at Caldros’ ruined city of O’rrh Sim
- Investigate the structure at Kw’arah Cloister in Cauldros
- Head for O’rrh Sim Keep in Cauldros
- Defeat Neilnail Furvus
- Defeat Neilnail Albus
The Custodian’s Duty Walkthrough
At the start of the mission, travel to the BLADE Barracks to trigger a cutscene.
When it ends, make your way to each objective in Cauldros at O’rrh Sim Castle Ruins, Ruined City of O’rrh Sim, and Kw’arah Cloister. Once at each objective, interact with the structure to receive the Royal Records.
After finding all three Royal Records, a cutscene will trigger. When it ends, travel to O’rrh Sim Keep.
As you approach the objective, another cutscene will trigger. Once it ends, you’ll face two Level 48 enemies. Defeat them to complete The Custodian’s Duty affinity mission.
Completion Rewards
As a reward for completing The Custodian’s Duty affinity mission, you’ll receive the following:
- Experience x480
- Reward Money x39,500
- Psycho Launcher Art “Heroic Tale”
