How to Start the Via Argentum Quest
You’ll automatically begin the Via Argentum quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 after completing the Into the Underworld main story quest.
Via Argentum Walkthrough
Go to Ruthard Palace
Travel to the south-central part of Kuttenberg. When you arrive, a cutscene will trigger followed by a fight against a group of men. Take them out to continue with the cutscene.
Talk to Christian of Pisek
Travel to the smithy southwest of Grund and speak with Christian of Pisek. He’ll want to speak in private, so follow him outside of the compound and continue your conversation.
Depending on the time of the day, the foremen will be located at different locations around the mine.
If you need to get into the mine, you’ll find the entrance at the spot in the picture shown below.
Find out the amount mined by Frank’s sonnies
You’ll need to convince him to tell you the amount, which is 36.
Find out the amount mined by Paul’s sonnies
Speak with Foreman Pavel and pray with him. Afterward, speak with him again to learn that they mined 30.
Find out the amount mined by Samko’s sonnies
When you speak with Samko, you’ll need to either play dice with him or persuade him to tell you that they mined 34.
Tell Christian what you learned from the miners
Report back to Christian to discuss what you learned from the foremen.
Get Fett to cooperate
Speak with Fett, who walks between the office and the food area. Convince him to tell you the truth.
Get Hermann to cooperate
Speak with Hermann, who can be found in the main office or the area outside it. Convince him to tell the truth.
Tell Christian what you found
After getting Fett and Christian to cooperate, return to Christian.
Talk to Buresh (optional)
To speak with Buresh, you must be dressed to the nines, have no plate armor, have no weapon, and be washed. If you need clothes, head to a tailor to purchase them.
When ready, head to Grund and speak with Buresh of Krakovitz.
Tell him that you just want to take a look, then exhaust all of the dialog options to get him to tell you that on the day in question, they received 90 corves. You’ll also get his permission to walk around the smelter.
Look around the smelter
Head to the smelter in Grund. After entering the area, speak with a smelter and they will direct you to Smelter Shima. Speak with him and he’ll want to speak somewhere private. Follow him outside the smelter until he stops along the road then speak with him again. You’ll need to convince him to tell you who it is.
Find Volkmar
After learning the identity of a possible thief, follow the objective to a homestead and speak with Smelter Vokmar.
Be prepared for a fight as he’ll attack you with a bunch of people. After the fight, speak with Volkmar and question him. You’ll learn that Buresh was behind it. You’ll then have the option to kill Volkmar or let him go.
Find the secret mint
Head east of Grund, following along the main road, to find the secret mint in the middle of the search area. It is in a private area guarded by one soldier.
Get evidence against Vavak
Jump into the hole in the ground to enter the mine. Inside you’ll find Buresh. Speak with him to learn what’s going on. After exhausting his dialog options, he’ll ask that you keep his name out of it and will give you the key to a chest containing evidence. Head further into the mine and speak with the two minters to acquire more information. In this room, be sure to loot the chest for the evidence.
Conclude your investigation with Christian
Exit the mine and return to Christian to tell him of the investigation. If you agree to his offer to let him take over the mining operation, you’ll get 625 groschen. The Via Argentum main story will then complete and the Taking French Leave will begin.
