How to Start the Ars Dimicatoria Quest
To begin the Ars Dimicatoria quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, speak with Menhard von Frankfurt in Kuttenberg. Agree to duel then take off all your armor. When you’re ready, speak with him to begin the duel and wager 200 groschen.
After you beat him, a cutscene will trigger. During the cutscene, you’ll convince the brotherhood that Menhard did not actually break any laws and was instead in a duel of honor because you had wronged him. The matter will then conclude and the Ars Dimicatoria side quest will begin!
Ars Dimicatoria Walkthrough
Talk to Menhard at the inn
When the cutscene ends, follow Menhard to The Emperor Charles Tavern in Kuttenberg. Speak with him at a table and agree to help him steal the guild sword.
Steal the Kuttenberg brotherhood’s sword
To reach the objective, head to the southwestern part of Kuttenberg. It’ll be easier to steal it at night, so wait until then. The guild longsword can be found on the wall of the banquet hall on the second floor. It’s the middle sword.
Display the sword on the Town hall outer wall
Now that you have the sword, head east to the Town Hall, which is near the Saddler and fast travel point. Once at Town Hall, use the prompt to display the sword near the stairs.
Return to Menhard
Make your way back to Menhard and speak with him to report your success. A cutscene will then trigger. Agree to be Menhard’s third. When you find yourself back at the inn, agree to be welcomed into their brotherhood.
Tell Menhard when you are ready for the duel with the Kuttenbergers
Speak with Menhard when you’re ready to begin the duel.
Duel
Watch the rounds until it is your turn, then head into the ring on the yellow side and beat Cobbler Linhart. After you beat him in the second round, a long cutscene will trigger. Agree to continue the duel, then head to the yellow corner of the ring. You’ll then have to face the Butcher and Master Nicholas back to back. Defeat them both to win the tournament! This will trigger a cutscene leading to a cutscene.
Wait a Few Days
Following the cutscene, you’ll need to wait three days then head to the fighting hall and speak with Menhard. The Ars Dimicatoria will then complete. As a reward, you’ll receive the Master Menhart’s Longsword and Fechthalle Key.
