How to Start the One Last Drink Quest
To begin the One Last Drink side quest in Avowed, speak with Captain Ngunu in The Dead Swordfish in Thirdborn.
One Last Drink Walkthrough
Captain Ngunu of Thirdborn desires to see his old crew again. Find them scattered across Shatterscarp and invite them to drinks.
Recruit Tauwe for the Reunion Toast
Tauwe can be found on the northeastern side of the Sand Sea Oasis in the Great Sand Sea. It doesn’t take much to convince him to go.
Recruit Kowha for the Reunion Toast
Kowha can be found in a hidden settlement in the Shark’s Teeth, towards the northeastern end of Shatterscarp. Speak with him, and he’ll ask that you put down his friends who are Dreamthralls now. Agree then purge the settlement.
One group of enemies will be down below and the other will be on a higher ledge reachable via a ladder. Afterward, return to Kowha and convince him to go to the reunion by saying he could bury the hatchet.
Investigate the Captain’s Quarters
Before speaking with Ruanga, you’ll need to investigate the captain’s quarters to uncover his plan.
Before traveling to The Dead Swordfish, head to the Fleet Master’s Perch in Thirdborn. At the top, loot Ngunu’s Vial of Poison and the Perilous Plants and Where to Pick Them note.
Recruit Ruanga for the Reunion Toast
Before traveling to Ruanga, make sure your Resolve is 9.
Ruanga can be found in the Abandoned Mine, which is east of the Ancient Lake Bed. Along the west side of the Abandoned Mine, you’ll find some cracks in the wall that will allow you to gain access.
Climb up and break the sealed entrance then follow the path up to the top.
You’ll reach the room containing Ruanga. Speak with her and tell her the following options:
- Captain Ngunu is looking for you.
- You knew Captain Ngunu wanted to see you?
- Why would he want to kill you?
- What happened?
- That’s commendable.
- I suspect he might try to poison you.
- I found a book about poisons in his quarters. He’d dog-eared a page about poisons of the Living Lands.
- I was supposed to invite you and the rest of the crew to drinks.
- Tawe’s already on his way to Thirdborn.
- Kowha was hesitant, but I convinced him to go.
- What if you turned the tables on him?
- [Resolve 9] You didn’t tell me to investigate the lighthouse, Ruanga. You suspected him, and I had a hunch you were right.
Return to Captain Ngunu
Head to The Dead Swordfish and speak with Cinzia. Select “What do we have here?”. Head up the stairs towards the group and speak with Captain Ngunu. You’ll then be able to choose:
- Dexterity 9 [Poison everyone’s cups]
- Give Kowha and Ruanga poisoned rum
- Switch cups and give Ngunu and Tauwe poisoned rum (You’ll get the Reverse Card achievement!!)
Upon delivering the drinks (no matter which route you choose), you’ll get the Ring of Prosperity’s Fortune, a unique item. After the events play out, the One Last Drink quest will complete.
