How to Begin the Find Mystic Carrions Servant Quest

You’ll come across Mystic Carrion at Philgrave’s Mansion while progressing the Free the Artist quest. During this, you’ll need to obtain the Torch of Revocation from him. This can be done by paying 3,000 gold or accepting and completing his request to find his missing servant. Going with the latter will help you obtain this quest. You can still complete this quest, even if you pay for the item with gold.

Find Mystic Carrions Servant Walkthrough

Find Thrumbo for Mystic Carrion

Travel to the alley directly west of the Basilisk Gate waypoint and speak with the Strange Beggar Lumbar. Mention Carrion and pass one of the dialogue checks to learn that the last thing he heard from Thrumbo was that he would procure them a boat. So our best bet to find him would be to look near the water.

Travel to the Heapside Strand waypoint, which is northeast of Philgrave’s Mansion, then head down the stairs on the right of said mansion and follow the beat east.

At the end, there will be a house called Vonayn’s Home. Head inside (ignore the red highlighted door) and interact with the wardrobe. This will cause our runaway to emerge into the room, starting some dialog.

Through it, you’ll learn that Carrion murdered Thumbo and some of his mates to turn them into what they are now. He’ll also mention that he thinks that Carrion is a Mummy Lord and that you’ll need to get ahold of the jars he’s keeping hidden to defeat him. This leaves you with a choice to decide Thrumbo’s fate.

Deliver Thrumbo’s Body to Mystic Carrion

If you decide to see Carrion’s quest all the way through, attack Thumbo and then grab his body and take it back to Carrion (you’ll need someone strong enough to pick it up).

Alternatively, you can loot the Jar of Mystic Carrion’s Heart off of Thrumbo and take it back to Mystic Carrion. Either way, you’ll receive the Torch of Revocation unless you have already bought it from him. Then you get nothing.

He’ll also comment on how it was stolen and not directly blame you even though it was purchased from him. During this conversation, you can try to get more out of him. Even if you pass the dialogue check, you won’t get anything other than what was agreed upon. This will complete the Find Mystic Carrions Servant quest.

End Mystic Carrion’s Immortality

Find and Explore the Ancient Lair

If you’ve decided to help out Thumbo and his remaining friends, you’ll need to figure out how to end Mystic Carrion’s immortality. Start by locating Mystic Carrion’s Ancient Lair. You can do this by traveling to the City Sewers using the manhole on the east side of the Glitter Gala, southwest of Bloomridge Part.

Once you are in the sewers, make your way north to reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint. From there, head west to pass the Voiceless Pentient Bareki, following the water through the Passageway. This will bring you to the Ancient Lair.

Head to the north wall, where a perception check reveals a hidden door. You’ll need to pick the lock on it to get it open. Upon doing that, you’ll be attacked by a large group of zombies and severed hands.

Once you have defeated them all, enter the room and pick the lock on the Gilded Chest to find the Jar of Mystic Carrion’s Liver. Grab that, then read the Funerary Jar Form and Function on the desk near the blue-colored braizer.

From this, you’ll learn that Carrion has been stuffing his zombies with jars that contain his body parts to sustain himself. Before returning to Thumbo, make sure to grab the Jar of Mystic Carrion’s Brain off the table in the middle of the body parts.

Get Mystic Carrion’s Heart from Thrumbo

Return to Thumbro and speak with him to share your findings about where the heart is. This will cause an interesting event where you’ll receive said jar. You’ll then need to destroy the jar by attacking it. It will explode, so you may want to move it somewhere safer. Do the same thing to the other two jars.

Destroy Carrion’s Heart

Now that all of Mystic Carrion’s jars of organs have been destroyed, it is time to pay him one last visit at the Philgrave’s Mansion. As soon as you enter the mansion, the fight against Carrion will begin. You’ll have to face the necromancer and a horde of his zombies.

If you destroyed all three of his jars, he’ll be easier to handle.

Once they have all been defeated, Thambo will show up and thank you for his freedom. You’ll be rewarded with the Crypt Lord Ring, which allows you to cast the Level 6 Create Undead Spell, which will also complete the Find Mystic Carrions Servant quest. Don’t forget to loot the gear off of Mystic Carrion before you leave!
