How to start Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief
To begin the Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief quest, speak with Gabby Mustari across from the tavern at Angler’s Inn Square in Port Brilehaven.
He’ll tell you that there is a legendary monster at the top of the Forsaken Tower, and it is tied to a trial to obtain a forbidden power.
Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief Walkthrough
Gather Intel
Travel to The Greatest Catch Tavern in Port Brilehaven and speak with the Seasoned Man inside. You’ll then want to purchase the “The Forsaken Tower Trial” intel. You’ll learn that the enemy at the Forsaken Tower will unleash a powerful counterattack if its attacks are repelled or nullified.
Explore the Forsaken Tower
After arriving at the Forsaken Tower, a cutscene will trigger. When it concludes, form your party then head inside to begin your trial.

Make your way all the way up to the ninth floor where you’ll find a Plateau Mirage. Make your save then head up the stairs to meet your foe.
Boss Fight – Devourer of Nations
During this boss fight, you’ll face the Devourer of Nations, which is a Level 70 dragon. This dragon is weak to nothing and repels Fire!
With each turn, the dragon will boost its attack with Great Dragon’s Wrath, giving him 6 additional turn icons. It can also inflict paralysis with a slash attack, shoot fireballs that can inflict burning, and breathe fire at you with an AOE attack that causes burning. Additionally, it has an AOE icy breath attack that inflicts frostbite and will sweep its tail, dealing strike damage.
Basically, your best bet is to buy the Dodger Ring from one of the magic shops, which makes it so that whenever the person who has it equipped dodges, it depletes all of the attacker’s Turn Icons, which immediately ends their turn. Equip this ring to someone who has high agility such as Heismay. Make sure you are out-healing the damage you’re taking to stay alive.
After defeating the dragon, the quest will complete.
Quest Rewards
As a reward for completing the Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief quest, you’ll receive the Cardinal Dragon Raiment. This piece of equipment has Strength +5, Magic +5, 360 DEF, 8 EVA and nullifies Fire.
