Welcome to NGB and our Dragon Age: The Veilguard walkthrough for the Hossberg Wetlands area. This guide will cover all the collectibles and quests you can obtain while exploring this area.

Hossberg Wetlands Overview
To 100% complete the Hossberg Wetlands area, you’ll need to find the following collectibles:
- 18 Chests
- 2 Timelost Hoards
- 2 Evanuris Altars
- 2 Fen’Harel Altars
You’ll need to visit this area multiple times throughout the story as new areas will unlock, allowing you to retrieve more collectibles!

As you explore the Hossberg Wetlands, you’ll come across the following quests:
Hossberg Wetlands Collectibles
Chests
Chest #1 – Sheltered Glade
To reach this chest, you’ll need to destroy the blight cysts on the tall structure. This will drop a ladder. Climb on up to find 3 statues. The closest statue is 1 and the farthest is 3. Face 1 west, 2 east and 3 south.
Doing so will open the door, allowing you to loot the chest.
Chest #2 – Cavernous Tunnels
Destroy the red crystals in the Cavernous Tunnels to drop the red barriers. Eventually, you’ll reach a blue barrier. Use Unbind Wards on it to reveal this chest.
Chest #3 – Gaspin Manor
This area will unlock during the An Academic Interest quest.
After defeating the boss during the An Academic Interest quest, loot the chest in the room the boss came out of.
Chest #4 – Gaspin Manor
This chest can be found on the second floor of the manor. You’ll need to jump the gap to reach it!
Chest #5 – Gaspin Manor
This chest can be found to the right just after using the wisp to move the lever raising the gate. Break the boards to enter this room.
Chest #6 – Solitude’s Edge
This chest can be found behind a small building on the southern side of the manor.
You’ll need to clear the blight to access it then break the back wall of the shack to reach it.
Chest #7 – Blighted Grove
This chest can be found on a platform next to the blighted tree. To reach it, head down the path north of the tree. This will bring you to a door blocked by blight. To the right, climb up two ledges which will allow you to hit a cyst on the other side of the wall.
After this cyst, hit the second one then pass through the door. Afterwards, melt some metal just past the door then use the griffon on the cyst to clear the path to the chest.
Chest #8 – Old Crossroads
This chest can be found on a rock ledge south of the beacon. To reach it, enter the building south of the beacon then climb up the path.
Chest #9 – Flooded Farmlands
This chest can be found inside a building northwest of the beacon.
Chest #10 – Flooded Farmlands
This chest can be found inside a building surrounded by blight in the northern part of the area. You’ll need to clear the blight then walk across the wooden beam to reach it!
Chest #11 – Lost Village
This area will unlock during the Lives Spared quest.
This chest can be found on the eastern side of the Lost Village where the Lives Spared quest will complete.
Chest #12 – Castle Gates
This area will unlock after completing the The Siege of Weisshaupt quest.
To open this chest, you’ll need to grab the wisp from under the crane to the northeast of the chest.
Bring it back to the pedestal to reveal the path to the chest, which can be found on a higher wooden floor accessible via a ladder.
Chest #13 – Castle Gates
This area will unlock after completing The Siege of Weisshaupt quest.
This chest can be found across a beam next to the dock.
Chest #14 – Inner Courtyard
This chest can be obtained during The Cauldron main story quest.
Chest #15 – Inner Courtyard
This chest can be found during The Cauldron main story quest.
Chest #16 – Blighted Shallows
This chest can be found on a wooden platform near the water after the Fire and Ice main quest.
Chest #17 – Sheltered Glade
You must complete the Something’s Coming quest in order to access this chest.
This chest can be found amongst the flowers in the Sheltered Glade.
Chest #18 – Solitude’s Edge
You must complete the Something’s Coming quest in order to access this chest.
This chest can be found among the flowers in the area opened by completing the Something’s Coming quest.
Timelost Hoards
Timelost Hoard #1 – Solitude’s Edge
You must complete the Gate of Pale Reflections quest in order to access this chest.
This chest can be found hiding behind the Level 35 Blight Cyst.
Timelost Hoard #2 – Old Crossroads
You must complete the Something’s Coming quest in order to access this chest.
This chest can be found on the eastern side of the Hossberg Wetlands.
Evanuris Altars
Evanuris Altar #1 – Gaspin Manor
This altar can be found on a balcony in the room next to the room with the large dining table.
Evanuris Altar #2 – Inner Courtyard
This Evanuris Altar can be found during The Cauldron main story mission.
Fen’Harel Altars
Fen’Harel Altar #1 – Flooded Farmlands
This altar can be found along the eastern edge of the Flooded Farmlands behind a raised wooden building.
The wolf statuette can be found on top of the shack just northwest of the beacon.
Fen’Harel Altar #2 – Lost Village
This altar can be found in the Lost Village after destroying a blight cyst blocking the entrance.
After activating the altar, head directly south to find this wolf statue in a ruined building.
