Necropolis Halls Walkthrough | Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Welcome to NGB and our Dragon Age: The Veilguard walkthrough for the Necropolis Halls area. This guide will cover all the collectibles and quests you can obtain while exploring this area.

Necropolis Halls Overview

To 100% complete the Necropolis Halls area, you’ll need to find the following collectibles:

• 17 Chests
• 1 Timelost Hoards

You’ll need to visit this area multiple times throughout the story as new areas will unlock, allowing you to retrieve more collectibles!

As you explore the Necropolis Halls, you’ll come across the following quests:

Necropolis Halls Collectibles

Chests

Chest #1 – Hollow Belfry, Lower

This chest can be found on the northeastern side of the room.

Chest #2 – Hollow Belfry, Lower

This chest can be found on the southwestern side.

Chest #3 – Chamber of the Unforged

This chest can be found off to the side of the room.

Chest #4 & Chest # 5 – The Path of Sighs

To open these chests, you’ll need to find a wisp. Head to the previous room to find a coffin with a wisp jumping up and down in.

Interact with it then collect the 5 bones lit by a purple flame before the time runs out.

Once you’ve collected them, return to the coffin and place them inside. The wisp will then follow you to the pedestal where you can place it to open the two chests.

Chest #6 – The Path of Sighs

Chest #7 – Vault of the Beloved

To reach the vault containing this chest, pull the lever by the gate.

Interact with the chest to find out that you’ll need to light candles to open the chest. Before you can light these candles, you must defeat all the enemies in the Vault of the Beloved. Once you do, interact with the 6 red candles with a green base lining the path of the aisle.

Chest #8 – Vault of the Beloved

This chest can be found along the main path.

Chest #9 – Cascades

Climb up the ladder then use Spite’s Reach to form platforms.

Use these to jump to pillars jutting out of the wall. These will take you to the ledge containing the cliff.

Chest #10 – Hollow Belfry, Upper

This chest can be found at the end of the walkway.

Chest #11 – Cascades

This chest can be found in the southern part of the area in a gated room. To open the gate, you’ll need to find a wisp. Head through the doorway north to reach the Spectral Court. On the left side of the room, interact with the coffin using Placate Mischief ability.

You’ll then need to follow the wisp and light the braziers with Taash in the order that it’s flying to. Afterwards, the wisp will open the coffin allowing you to get some goodies and the wisp will cooperate in going with you to the pedestal by the chest’s gate.

Chest #12 – Chamber of the Unforged

Chest #13 – The Memorial Gardens

This chest can be found in a foggy tomb.

Chest #14 – The Memorial Garden

This chest can be found in the northwestern corner of the area behind a closed door. To open it, you must ring the bell just outside then follow the wisp to the other bells around the area and ring them. You’ll know it’s their turn to be rung when they glow yellow. After ringing all the bells, the door will open.

Chest #15 – Cascades

South of The Memorial Garden beacon, you’ll find a little path. Follow it to reach this chest.

To open the room, you’ll need a wisp. Return up the ledge and head up the stairs on the left. Head to the tomb in the center of the room and use the Placate Mischief command to free the wisp, allowing you to use it to unlock the door.

Chest #16 – Vault of the Beloved

Just before heading to The Gardens, look to the left at the top of the stairs to find a foggy doorway.

Head on through and you’ll be transported to another area containing this chest.

Chest #17 – Lost Watcher’s Wing

In order to reach this chest, you must first complete all the Haunting quests. Afterwards, you should be able to find this chest on the stairs.

If there is still rubble on the stairs after you have completed all of the Haunting quests, exit the game then restart it.
