To begin the Many Mappy Returns quest in Ys X: Nordics, speak with Dogi aboard the Sandras during Chapter 4 after returning to Balta Island.

Many Mappy Returns Walkthrough
For this quest, travel to the Great Tidal Reef in the southern part of the map.
Once there, disembark from the ship and work your way through the area until you reach the northern beach where a cutscene will trigger.
When it ends, you’ll need to face Captain Daedalus in battle. Defeat this pirate captain and his crew then return to the ship and speak with Dogi. The quest will complete and you’ll receive the Tandem Manual: Shield.
