Welcome to NGB and our Metaphor ReFantazio walkthrough of the Giant Sandworm’s Belly area. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the Giant Sandworm’s Belly, including its layout, any enemies found there, and the treasures you can claim! You’ll visit the Giant Sandworm’s Belly during the Old Castle Town Kidnapper main quest. Be warned that once you leave, you cannot return!

Giant Sandworm’s Belly Enemies
In the belly of the Giant Sandworm, you’ll find many mollusk-typed enemies with a pair of mini-bosses and a lone spirit thrown in.

Giant Sandworm’s Belly Walkthrough
Foregut
When you regain control of the party, there will be a Plateau Mirage to the left of the valve; make sure to use it to save before doing anything else, as a 15-minute timer will start as soon as you reach the next area.
With that out, attack the fleshy lump to open the valve and head through. This will start the 15-minute timer. You can pause the game to stop the timer, but it will continue to run while in combat. There are also two chests with items you can loot and many items littered on the ground. The central path leads you through a pit of stomach acid that will damage you while traversing it. You can move quicker through it if you roll. The path along the right has bulbs that shoot out acid and can send you flying, while the left path is littered with enemies. To proceed to the next area, you’ll need to reach the northern part of this area and destroy the fleshy lump to open the valve.

- Revives one ally from KO and fully restores their HP
- Hero’s Leaf of Light x1
- Increases Archetype experience by 1000
Hindgut
After reaching the Hindgut, you’ll see that the layout resembles that of the Foregut. The Level 25 Homo Fios guards the path on the left side. It’s weak to fire and will attack the party using its ice skills and debuffs. Once defeated, the party will destroy the crystal behind it, making a shortcut to the northern part of the area. One of the chests is accessible from that route. The other is on a ledge in the northeastern part. To reach it, you’ll need to pass by blubs that are flinging acid. Make sure to cross them, as getting them will send you into an acid pit below.
Once you’re ready, head to the northern part of the area and attack the fleshy valve. This will then lead to a mini-boss fight against the Parasitic Valmo.

Parasitic Valmo
The Parasitic Valmo will be Level 22, is weak to fire, and absorbs ice. It will summon Vamprici Gelatinos to assist it in battle. They attack with skills trying to inflict poison on single or multiple party members. You can take them down quickly using ice magic. Once the beast is slain, a cutscene ensues where the party makes their grand escape!
