How to Start the New King of the Imps Bounty
You’ll gain access to the New King of the Imps quest after you reach Martira by progressing the main story. Speak with the Recruiter Dispatcher in the northern part of Thoroughfare Square to grab the Goborn King, Forest Champion bounty.
New King of the Imps Bounty Guide
Gather Intel
To learn more about the Goblin King, travel to the Visca Alba Tavern and speak with the Informed Man to purchase the King of the Imp’s Den intel for 800 reeve. He’ll tell you that to find the Goborn King, you’ll need to take out the Goborns wearing a black cloth. The informant also mentions that they don’t have any notable weaknesses but are susceptible to sleep. He’ll also advise you not to go in as the Mage Archetype. This will make them go berserk, dealing massive damage to the party. He also mentions that giant insects named Vesps are also found in the same location and are weak to pierce attacks.
Prepare!
Before setting out, now would be a good time to visit the shops to upgrade your gear and stock up on items. Specifically, you can purchase a Slumberthorn from MesmerEyes Apothecary for 72 reeves, which may inflict sleep on one enemy.
Travel to the Imps Den
When you’re ready to set out, return to the Gauntlet Runner and interact with the Round Table, plotting our course for the Imps Den. Along the way, you’ll have some free time to fit in one activity. After doing that, you will get attacked by a random group of enemies. Defeat them to reach your destination shortly afterward. Defeat the Black-Cloaked Goborns
Before entering the Goblin’s Nest, you can speak with the party and More. When you’re ready, press on to the next area. You’ll be tasked with defeating the cloaked goblins there that are marked on the map. Once enough have all fallen, the Goborn King will appear, dragging you into combat.
Boss Fight: Enter the Goblin King
The Goborn King is Level 24 and will be joined in battle by one of each type of Goborn. He’ll also buff their attack and can also boost his hit/evasion rate. Our Archetypes for this fight were the Knight, Swordmaster, and Merchant. We used the Merchant to attack the Goborn King using its Gold Attack while the Swordmaster used Round Slash, which deals weak physical Slash damage to all enemies. We also had Heat Up inherited to make it deal extra damage. The Knight kept using Knight’s Proclamation to tank all of the enemy’s hits. Our Merchant also had Medi inherited to heal if needed. With this setup, we were able to take out the other Goborns quickly, and the king fell shortly after.
Defeating the Goborn King will reward you with 1,159 EXP, 542 A-EXP, 583 MAD, some reeve, a Sentinel’s Talisman, and the Scrapmetal Slab. The Sentinel’s Talisman grants +6 Endurance, while the Scarpmetal Slab is a weapon for the Warrior Lineage that has 160 ATK 65 HIT and can be purified at a church to enhance it.
Rewards
Now that the bounty has been slain return to Martira and speak with the Recruiter Dispatcher to deliver the Imp’s Loincloth. You’ll then be rewarded with 16,000 reeve and 4 points into the Courage Royal Virtue for completing this bounty. Additionally, you’ll receive a slight boost in your Popularity Rank.
