Welcome to NGB and our Unicorn Overlord guide on the Province of Famine side quest! Learn how to begin and finish the quest, discover the rewards you’ll earn, the key characters in our victorious team, and the strategy we applied to conquer the battle stage. Keep in mind that we prioritized tasks like freeing forts, capturing bridges, and clearing watchtowers before meeting the victory conditions to maximize experience points, war funds, Honors, and renown, all crucial for strengthening the Liberation Army.
How to Start the Province of Famine Quest
From Lis de Prairie Village, head west and follow the road north. Cross the bridge then speak with Adel to trigger a cutscene leading to the start of the quest.
How to Complete Province of Famine
When you’re ready to start the Battle Stage, interact with the banner to trigger a cutscene leading to the start of the stage. For this fight you’ll be going up against mostly Knights and Gryphon Knights with some Archers and Axe Breakers so you’ll want to make sure to bring a ranged unit like a Hunter. This is a huge map so you might want to bring mounted units!
Be on the lookout for shiny objects on the ground throughout the battle stage. You’ll be able to receive the following items: Healing Font (S), Camping Set (S), Miracle Fruit and Farsight Crystal.
Start by summoning your units and sending Adel north towards the Facon Town.
As you get close, a Knight will approach. Use Adel to speak with the Knight, causing him to switch sides, gaining you 4 additional Knight units (that you can’t control). Afterwards, Fran, a Gryphon Knight, will show up and join the fray.
After liberating Facon Town, you’ll receive Holy Herb. Next, head east along the main road and claim the Poutiselle Ruins and Divine Effigy: Rain. North of the effigy there will be some Archers stationed at Deucrin Ruins that you’ll need to take out and will receive 5000G for doing so.
Also, you can start using Fran to assault Fort Gromond on the eastern side of the area. Afterwards, send her to take the Utur Sabal Ruins to receive the Dew of Warding. Group all your units together at the Utur Sabal Ruins then head south down the road to Nordplage Town.
As you approach this town, more Knights from Adel’s order will surround the town. Send Adel to speak with them. Unfortunately, they won’t help but at least you won’t have to fight them. After liberating Nordplage Town, you’ll receive a Defensive Draught. From the town head east to reach the enemy Command Post where Gaston awaits.
After defeating him, you’ll receive a Baroque Shield and the stage will clear. A cutscene will then trigger and Adel will join your ranks.
